Gary started his career in the corporate world working for the Leventis Group, the second largest group of companies in Nigeria.  In 1984 he joined an Alcan subsidiary Baco Contracts as a Buyer and was involved in the supply of aluminium safety parapet to the huge motorway construction programme across Saudi Arabia.

After a spell running his own catering company, alongside his wife, he joined the cable industry in Central London in 1993 in the early days of the cable TV surge and ran a field operations group covering the whole of North London with over 200 employees.  Over the period from 1993 to 2000 Gary held a number of roles with Telewest Plc. (now Virgin Media).

There have also been shorter roles and commissions for a property development company in Kent and the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister here in the UK. 

From 2003-2012, he held the role of General Manager with the Auckland MS Society in New Zealand, where his role included the organization of residential retreats on the Coromandel Peninsula facilitated by Professor George Jelinek and his team from Melbourne.
