How attending an OMS event helped Claire and could help you too!

October 3, 2017

Have you recently been diagnosed with MS? Perhaps you have had MS for a while but have only recently discovered Overcoming MS? You could have possibly been following the OMS Recovery Program for some time but are looking for answers to your questions, expert guidance, emotional support or to meet others you can talk to?

If you speak to any of the OMSers who have attended an event in the past, most will tell you that they could relate to at least one of these scenarios.

OMS events such as the 7 Steps to Overcoming MS Event taking place on the 22nd of October in Brighton, offer a unique opportunity for people following the Recovery Program to hear various medical professionals and experts speak about the different elements of the program such as diet, vitamin D and sunlight, exercise, meditation and so on.

This may be just the introduction you need to get started. Many of the presenters at our events have MS themselves and are following the program, and thus are best positioned to tell you all about it.

OMSers who have attended an event or retreat often speak fondly of the people they met and friendships they have made. A sense of community and support can make all the difference as Claire, who has attended an OMS retreat, explains in the video below:

“Finding out about the OMS Program… I feel like its saved my life because it gave me hope. And with the community, the people I met on the retreat, you realize you aren’t in this world alone. I meet up from time to time with people in my region who I found through the OMS forum and its great to meet up with people who understand where you are coming from.” ~ Claire

The good news is that it is never too late or too early to start taking control and doing whatever it takes to manage or even overcome MS. Even better, there are still tickets available for our October event in Brighton.

  4. Oh Claire, so well spoken and so bang on with the fears, emotion, and being in a dark place. I had been experiencing many different symptoms, cat scans, MRI’s, too many DR visits and as they finally decided spinal tap and talked MS I found the program, bought the books and felt diagnosed or not, I had nothing to lose, I was already down a dark, scary road, trouble walking and other things. (I was finally diagnosed MS) I still remember the numb feeling, as I hoped it was something that would go away. I too feel that finding the OMS program saved my life and has filled me with hope. I have been diligent on this diet for over 5 months now and yes, I walk with a cane, but I am doing so many things now that 6 months ago I couldn’t, So many symptoms have subsided and I truly feel better now than I have been for the last 2 years. My neurologist wants me to start taking copaxone, I am currently on no meds and am hoping to avoid them if possible. Thanks for your story. Bless you Mary-Marleen
