What are matching gifts?
Matching gifts are charitable giving schemes where companies will match their employee's donations to charity. They are very popular corporate giving programmes in the US and Canada.
Some companies might cap their support at a certain amount. Others may match, double or even triple your donation to Overcoming MS. The minimum and maximum amounts will vary according to their individual policy.
Whatever the amount, you can feel good knowing the impact of your donation has been magnified to help people with MS live well, at no extra cost to you!
How do matching gifts work?
Donors apply for a matched gift directly through their company's scheme, usually by completing an online application form. Once your company has approved your application, they make the gift to Overcoming MS directly on your behalf.
Different companies will have different deadlines. They usually operate on a quarterly or end of financial year basis. You might need to apply to your employer for a matching gift within a certain time following your donation to Overcoming MS.
Am I eligible to apply for a matching gift for Overcoming MS?
Companies of all different sizes operate matching gifts schemes as an employee benefit, so you may be surprised to find out that your company operates a matched gift scheme.
