There is no cure for Parry-Romberg syndrome

I came across this article (OK, I look at health news in google every morning). There are so many syndromes, disorders and diseases which have terrible complications which I never gave a thought to before - except for pity for the person with it.
Apparently, it's suspected to be autoimmune but it causes terrible deformity to young people. The parents went from specialist to specialist with no luck. Then they found a surgeon who performs an operation he says is successful - though he does not know why.

The moral of the story is not to run out and get stents put in, but rather that the pursuit of better answers which has brought us here, is worthwhile. Certainly, there could be a surgical intervention and we should be cautious, but we should always ask questions.
