Can someone tell me how weight can go on on this diet. One of our Mana-ites (no Computer) has asked why she has put on weight but is following the diet? She is consuming vast amounts of fruit but otherwise sticking to the diet. Could it be from the sugar in the fruit? I will pass on any suggestions as she is feeling quite lethargic as well. I have lost 13kg (and counting) on this program, but it's not just the diet ... includes exercise as well. I try to walk half an hour every day, but find that there are always 1-3 days a week when I don't get my walk.
Maybe you are right about the sugar content of the fruit being a factor.
There may also be other reasons. I would recommend she keep a food diary for a week, and then count up the fat and sat fat, the calories and other nutrients in her diet, to make sure she is eating in a balanced way.

I eat loads of vegetables, and perhaps these take more calories to digest than they actually contain, giving a negative benefit?
Has you friend checked her vitamin D level? My energy skyrocketed after a few megadoses to bring up my level.
Perhaps thyroid function tests might also be useful?
