Useful to have a batch in the fridge for quick nutritious breakfasts.

Begin the day before needed.

2 cups short grain brown rice
7 cups water

Wash rice in a sieve and then add the water into a heavy bottom pan with a lid.
Soak for 5 hours.
Bring to boil and then turn heat down to lowest possible temperature.
Cover with tight lid.
Simmer for 2 hours. No need to stir or check.
Allow to cool until needed.
Take the quantity you need and add either rice or soya milk. Slowly heat through whilst stirring.
I do a vanilla version, guess it's more of a rice pudding as I cook it with soya milk, but it doesn't have to be sweet, I like it just flavoured and creamy due to the milk... not sure now that this belong here in your porridge section anymore actually... never mind, bon appetit nonetheless !
