Hi everyone

My children are 7 and 5. They are pretty good, healthy eaters but don't really enjoy oily fish. Should I be giving them an omega 3 supplement? They have started taking vit d supplements recently.

Many thanks
Hi Hilary
I give my daughter flax oil as part of her every day diet. I don't measure it or make a big thing about it and she really enjoys the flavour, especially on either pasta or bagels.
Although Professor Jelinek doesn't specifically say to give your children Omega 3, it does make sense to. It is recommended during pregnancy and studies have shown that omega 3 during pregnancy reduces asthma, allergy and dermatitis in the offspring.

If they eat as you eat i.e. dairy and animal flesh free and low processed foods that is the best start. Lots of greens and some walnuts are natural sources of omega 3.

Thank you so much for all your helpful replies!
Take care,
