Music as meditation

I have a query for all of the meditation experts out there. I have been using the Headspace for years and I quite like the themes, sometimes. However, at other times, I was thinking of mindfully listening to some music I really enjoy. Does anyone else do this or know whether it would be effective. I'm planning to do some basic research on the idea but your thoughts and any references you have would be most welcome. Thanks

I have always found music to be an escape from the ruminations of past and future, and thus good meditation IMHO. Be in the moment with the music and let it take you on a journey. I would say that the choice of music will be important, with the soothing type preferred over anything which can induce anxiety (and a lot of music out there does). Perhaps instrumental music would be best, and probably classical even better.
Any form of meditation which brings stillness and reduces stress is a good thing.

You can listen to what you wish, it doesn't matter, your meditations should bring you calmness and happiness.

Meditation is a great way to relieve stress. Very often people are faced with the problem of finding happiness. I am no exception. And recently I found and decided to take it. It helped me to understand how satisfied I am with life and what makes me happy after all.
