After finding this study: http://www.neurology.org/content/86/16_Supplement/P1.374 I decided to give it a try. Today my favorite compounding pharmacy gave me sodium propionate capsules for 100 days.

I know I might have the same effect by eating a lot of fiber and all the things that make my microbiome healthy but I was wondering if anyone else tried this shortcut?

I've been on this for the past 3 weeks (sodium propionate 500 mg orally twice a day as the study in Germany was carried out). I've also been supplementing with inulin fibre which increases the production of all short chain fatty acids in the gut (including propionate). Best of luck to you.
