Hi all,
Does anyone know if it's ok to use a little skim milk occasionally? At one time I would never have considered that watery muck, but now I'm desperate for an alternative to full cream milk. However, please don't bother suggesting any of the imitation so-called milks made from rice, oats, soy, etc.. I have tried them all and you wouldn't want to read the adjective that I might use to describe the taste of them...LOL

Not all milk alternatives are created equal. In Europe you able to source Lima Products and the milk alternatives from this brand are like no other. They are completely organic and the sunflower oil used in them has not been refined or heat extracted, but cold pressed. The company is Japanese/French with health and taste being their key drivers. Hi JIm,

I found that I couldn't stand soy too when I first started this diet and could only 'tolerate' rice milk when absolutely necessary. I even started drinking my tea black!
However, after about 3 or 4 months on this diet, I found that my palate/tastebuds changed and now I really enjoy soy milk. I think it took that long to wean my tastebuds off thinking that processed and fatty food tasted 'normal' and adjust to eating purer foods.

So avoid skim milk but perhaps revisit and try the soy and alternative milks again in a couple of months time, once your palate has adjusted to the changes you/ve made to your diet.

Try VitaSoy ricemilk enriched with chickpeas. It's my favourite 'milk' and may be more to your taste.
