My favourite supermarket has just had a big refit and now has a lot more shelf space for (very expensive) dairy free and gluten free products. Less space for my favourite products sadly.

So I browsed the dairy free shelves and saw Non Dairy Creamer - first time I have noticed this in New Zealand - dairy capital of the world! I looked at the ingredients, full of rubbish (bad fats etc) as you would expect and sodium caseinate was listed. Now that's milk protein and very misleading labelling to call it dairy free!

Just goes to show that we need to read labels carefully on our plant based diet and to remember that quote from Michael Pollan:

“If it came from a plant, eat it; if it was made in a plant, don't.”
