Hi everyone,

If I take fish and flaxseed oil, is there any concern that the blood will become too thin? Do you have your blood checked for this? Do you take both of these oils? How much?

Thank you,

Ellen
Fish Oil is no longer recommended, just take flax oil.
Hopefully someone else can provide back up to confirm,
Diagnosed 2006
OMS 18th September 2014 & loving it!
Thanks Karenj. How much flaxseed oil do you take? It's funny that fish oil seems to be the preferred source of omega 3 for most people because of the EPA and DHA. Do you have any links to why flaxseed oil is recommended by George Jelinek on the OMS diet?
Thank you. Those links were really helpful.

I've been taking fish oil 1000mg 2x a day for the past year or so to lower my cholesterol. It seems to have been working as my numbers are better. But as far as helping arthritis aches and pains, it doesn't do anyhing to ease it up. Different strokes for different folks, I guess. Also I take some multi vitamins

Yes, fish oil found to be less effective than flaxseed oil on disease progression in the HOLISM study. Although, it is much better than nothing.
Omega 3 also thins you blood naturally & I’ve recently been reading on Canadian Pharmacy website that it has cluster dissolving properties in it which dissolve the type of clusters that cause a person to have a stroke!
