Hi all of you!

I haven't been on this forum for a long time, but am still on the OMS program and am doing reasonably well!

I take vitamin D drops from Nature's answer ( http://www.iherb.com/pr/nature-s-answer ... 5-ml/20745 )
which used to contain only vit. D and EVOO.

I now see that they've added another ingredient: medium chain triglycerides. I have no idea what they are, googled it but it is to complicated for me to understand.

So, what are they and is it okay to take or should we avoid it? I vaguely remember that we should avoid it, but want to be sure!

The main sources of medium chain triglycerides are coconut and palm kernel oil. They should be avoided.

It used to be a lot easier to find brands of vitamin D3 drops with olive oil as the base fat. Maybe coconut and palm oils are cheaper?

By the way, the reason I want to take drops is because I am a vegetarian and there is gelatin in capsules!
If you don't want gelatin, you could also take vitamin D3 tablets and skip the manufacturer's choice of fat vehicle altogether. You just need to make sure *you* take the tablets with fat so you absorb the D3 properly.

Hi everybody... I would like to share with you as much information as possible regardining coconut oil - MCT. Prof. Jelinek recommends us to avoid it... and according to the research about the shift towards Th1 response he's absolutely right. But there are lots of evidences regarding the benefits that MCT could provide to the entire central nervous system (you may have read the text written by Terry Wahls). Therefore, on one hand - having an autoimmune disease - we should avoid it (Th1 shift), but on the other hand we may need it (neurodegenerative disorder). I am completely open to your opinions, experiences or research that I'm not able to find on the internet. This is my impression: reality is not so lopsided, especially in such a complex disorder. I believe that the key factor is the amount. We may boost our mytocondria in the brain with small quantities of MCT and - by intaking plenty of omega 3 and other components that lower Th1 - it is unreseanable to worry about the shift towards Th1 (we even eat a few meat...). Thank you ...
Some of the latest findings (of which i'll try to source for those that like that sort of thing) are finding it ok in small amounts eaten along side veggies, balance seems to be the key. Too much increases inflammation, a little helps to seal our gut lining. My own diet seems to reflect that.
