For new members this OMS prepared blog has some ideas for Christmas day.

My menu will be in no particular order:

Christmas pudding cake based on the recipe in the above link also here
Almond biscuits here
Stuffed portobellow mushrooms (there are loads on the internet but all need tweaking mine will be chickpea and cashew based)
Mediterranean vegetable spagetti here
Black eyed peas red stew here

Plus lots of lovely fresh leafy vegetables and some baked potato.

It is pretty much the only time I use sugar so we will see if I am still standing in two weeks!

Tilapia fillet (oven baked)

Baked beans (oven baked from scratch)
Soak beans overnight in enough water to cover by 1"
Drain and rinse, put in a pot with enough water to cover by 1.5" bring to boil, then simmer for 60 minutes.
Finely dice an onion, fry in a little olive oil and water in a skillet.
Sweat the onion until clear, add a Tbs of minced garlic, a Tbs paprika, 1 tsp chili powder, 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper, stir constantly to incorporate.

Meringue with fresh blackberry's and apples.

This is my first OMS Christmas diner, and we tend to stretch our belts late in the day, the rest of the house will have a traditional Turkey, ham and trimmings meal.

I almost feel sorry for them! :lol:

My plans are prawn salad, more prawns, fresh fruit platter, and ...... Christmas cake
Soak 375g mixed fruit (I like sunbeam) in 1cup apple juice overnight.
Add 3 Tb (60ml) brandy or rum, 1/2 cup almond meal, 2 Tb pumpkin seeds, some chopped glacé ginger, 125ml soy milk (I use bonsoy), 1/4 cup olive oil, 1 cup (250ml) self raising flour, 1/2cup wholemeal flour, 1tsp baking powder, 2 tsp mixed spice.
Stir well. Baked in a tin lined with baking paper, 150 degrees Celsius/ 300F for about 50 minutes or until cake is golden brown and firm to touch.
Brush with a little plum or apricot jam whilst still hot for a lovely shine on top.

My whole family like this one.
