Another study showing the benefits of meditation

Medical students and doctors are well known to suffer stress and burnout. Living and eating well and meditation are shown to improve well-being.

Medical students and doctors are well known to suffer stress, poor health behaviours and burnout, particularly before exams. This paper shows the benefits of the Health Enhancement Program at Monash University for medical students. My colleague, Dr Craig Hassed, with whom I present the MS retreats at the Mana Retreat in New Zealand, has pioneered this program to start doctors' careers off on the right foot by applying similar principles to those on this website: living and eating well, meditating and practising mindfulness. Note the students' wellbeing improved on all measures.
