Double dose Copaxone no better than standard dose

A large international randomised controlled trial has shown no difference between double dose (40mg) Copaxone and standard dose (20mg) Copaxone

A very large international randomised controlled trial of 1155 people with MS recruited from centres all around the world has shown no difference between double the usual dose of Copaxone (40mg) injected daily and the standard 20mg dose.

A smaller previous study had suggested that the higher dose might work better than the standard dose, but this carefully designed study failed to show any difference.

The real question people taking this drug would like answered is whether it can be taken less often than daily and still be just as effective.

Small studies suggest that this is likely to be true, although it is probably unrealistic to expect the manufacturing drug company to research this, as it will mean a drop in revenue for them if proven.
