Neil Thompson, age 31, from Dundonald near Belfast in Northern Ireland is running for 91 days straight, to support his brother-in-law Dr Jonny White.

Family supporter runs for 91 days

Finding himself a bit bored during lockdown Neil put on some trainers and starting running, on 18th June 2020. 1 day of 1km then 2 consecutive days of 2km all the way up to 13 consecutive days of 13km. In total he plans to run 819km. There’s nowhere to hide for him either as he is tracking his runs on Strava which are posted on his JustGiving page for all to see.

Neil, 31, is married to the sister of OMS’ resident medical expert Dr Jonathan White. Via this close close family connection with our charity he has seen first-hand the progress Jonny has made on the OMS programme and how much support the charity has provided over the years. A few years ago Jonny and Neil completed 10km runs together and both would admit neither were natural runners!

“How Jonny has changed his diet, lifestyle and adapted his circumstances to overcome MS is an inspiration which has spurred me on to raise funds for the charity that has helped him.”

Neil has already broken his fundraising target of £1000 as he approaches his 91st day. Neil admits he prefers to run for a purpose so having the fundraising challenge drives him on, “I enjoy running every other day!” Thank you Neil for your stirling effort and check out his JustGiving page to see the full story.
