Our Train The Trainer Programme is now open for applications

Could you be the next Trainee Facilitator to join our team, as part of the global Train the Trainer Programme?

What is Train the Trainer?

Overcoming MS is here for everyone with MS who wants to live a full and healthy life. Part of our strategic ambition to deliver world class information, tools and support to people living with MS is to grow a collaborative, passionate and sustainable team which includes our Facilitators, who are Expert Advisors with lived experience of MS.

Facilitators are individuals living with personal experience of MS, who have advanced knowledge of the Overcoming MS Program and relevant expertise in areas such as healthcare, psychology, or coaching. They might feature as an expert on our podcast or in a webinar, run online classes in their field of expertise, deliver our world-class residential retreats and attend our in-person events, and we are always open to hearing ideas from our Facilitators on how they would like to contribute to Overcoming MS.

Alexandra Holden, Chief Executive of Overcoming MS, said: “The blend of skills that our Facilitators bring to our events and courses really sets us apart. To have a group of people who bring their personal experience of MS as well as their expertise in specific areas of lifestyle coaching is a unique benefit for our community. Investing in our Train the Trainer programme means we can do more, in more places, to support more people. This is an essential part of our future.”

In order for us to be able to run more events and support more people we need more Facilitators, so we launched our Train the Trainer programme in 2023 – a comprehensive 18 month training programme with a blend of practical and theoretical learning and development, all with support and mentorship from a Senior Facilitator.

Laura Crowder, a recent graduate of the Train the Trainer programme, said: “It’s an opportunity for me to give something back to Overcoming MS as a charity because they’ve done so much for me, the Program has transformed my life in so many positive ways.”

Our recent graduates

  • Laura Crowder, a Health Coach specialising in the Change Your Life for Life pillar
  • Heather O’Neil, a Clinical Social Worker specialising in the Stress Management and Physical Activity pillars
  • Sue Tibbles, an MS Nurse specialising in the Stress Management and Medication pillars

  • Yvette Sargood, Mindfulness Teacher specialising in the Stress Management pillar
