New Pathways Magazine has published an article in its October/November issue by Professor Jelinek. In it, he argues that the conflict between the drug-focused approach to MS espoused by traditional medical practitioners and the healthy living approach proposed by many other health practitioners is damaging to people with MS.
They find themselves stuck in the middle of the argument. Professor Jelinek suggests that for people with MS it is important to take the best of what is on offer from all the available therapies, depending on their circumstances.
For some people this will involve taking disease-modifying medications, and for others this may not. In the end, these are very personal choices and it is important to find a medical practitioner who supports these choices.
