Tips on accessing the webinars

We've written some hints and tips about about how the webinar will work.

To start with, you will need to sign up on the Livestorm platform here for each webinar you would like to attend (you are free to attend as few or as many as you like).

  • To join the webinar, just click on the ‘Access Webinar’ button in the confirmation email you received. You will also get two reminder emails – at one hour and at 5 minutes before the start – which will also contain the ‘Access Webinar’ button.
  • If the webinar hasn’t yet started, you’ll be directed to a ‘waiting room’ until it does.
  • Our webinar platform, Livestorm, works on all major browsers, but is optimized for Google Chrome so if possible, that’s the best one to use.
  • You can also stream your webinar on a smartphone or tablet through Chrome or other major browser (like Safari and Firefox), but for the best experience, view it on your laptop or desktop.
  • For best results, your connection speed should be at least 5MBs, a threshold most high-speed internet connections will easily meet. To check your connection speed, you can run a quick test here.
  • Also, if possible, don’t view the webinar from a protected network or from behind a firewall.
  • Make sure your battery is charged on your device and connected to the internet. 
  • Test that your sound is working before the start of the webinar.
  • Note: you will NOT be visible or audible during the webinar. 
  • We have had an amazing uptake in sign ups to the webinars so there will be hundreds of people signing in, this means it will be difficult to provide individual technical support. It is always best to start troubleshotting by logging out and trying to log in again. If oyu have persistent problems it could be worth using a different device. Otherwise, you will be able to view the recording at a later date at your leisure.
  • This session will run approximately 60 minutes this includes ~20 minutes presentation  and ~40’ Q&A
  • Submitting your questions:
    • You can submit questions by emailing in advance, particularly if you are unable to view the webinar 'live'
    • Use the questions tab on your screen to post a new question, or someone may have already posted the question you wanted to ask, so please use the “upvote” button to the right of that question to vote for that question
  • Given the size of our audience, we won’t be able to get to all of your questions “live”, but we will be emailing all registrants a recap by the end of the week, which will include a link to the video replay, the presentation itself and answers to some of the questions we weren’t able to get. If you haven't registed we will also post this on the OMS website.
