Stephen worked at Macmillan Cancer Support for 18 years and was a Regional Director, Director of England, and Director of Professional Engagement. In 2016, he became CEO of Solving Kids’ Cancer a charity that provides family support, promotes access to treatment, initiates and funds clinical research and campaigns on behalf of children and families affected by neuroblastoma.
Policy work has featured prominently in Stephen’s career. At Macmillan, he led the campaign to enable reimbursement of the congestion charge in London for those with cancer too ill to travel in on public transport. At Solving Kids’ Cancer, he set up a coalition of childhood cancer charities to successfully campaign for the availability of dinutuximab beta, an anti-GD2 antibody therapy, to be free on the NHS for children with high-risk neuroblastoma.
Stephen lives in Ealing, West London with his wife Deborah.
