Move Your Way in May is your chance to get active in a way that works for you – while helping someone else get the right information and support from the day of diagnosis.

Whether it’s walking, stretching, swimming or trying something new, you choose your own goal and complete it your way.

  1. Choose an activity that works for your body, your lifestyle and your enjoyment.
  2. Set your goal for May.
  3. Take part on your own or with others.
  4. Fundraise alongside your challenge.
  5. Share your fundraiser with friends and family and invite them to support you.

However you choose to move, your challenge matters – you are raising money so someone else can find out about the benefits of healthy lifestyle at the very start of their MS journey. You may be surprised at how much people will want to support you, and we’ll be here with tips, resources and ideas to get you started.

Why take part?

May is the perfect time to try something new, build a healthy habit or get back into a routine that works for you. At the same time, you’ll be helping someone else feel less overwhelmed and more supported after an MS diagnosis.

When you fundraise as part of Move Your Way in May, you can:

  • Help someone newly diagnosed find trusted information when they need it most.
  • Provide practical tools and resources that make healthy changes feel possible.
  • Reach more people looking for hope, clarity and a way forward.

Your fundraising helps more people access information and support that can change how they live with MS.

This is the difference your fundraising can make:

I’m newly diagnosed so this is brilliant to know I can do something to help live my best life. Thank you.”

I’ve come away with lots of new information and feel like I am less alone in my diagnosis”

Following Overcoming MS has certainly helped me manage my MS [and it] gave me hope that I can control some of my MS journey”

Movement and MS

Physical activity is one of the key pillars of the Overcoming MS approach. Regular movement can support strength, energy and overall wellbeing – and looks different for everyone. This could be the perfect time to try something new, challenge yourself or gently build on what’s working.

Every kind of movement counts. For example:

  • Walk 8,000 steps a day (or a goal that works for you)
  • Do a Pilates or yoga class each week of May
  • Commit to 10 minutes of gentle movement every day in May
  • Swim throughout the month to reach your goal
  • Set a one-off cycling or running challenge that suits you
  • Get together with your friends to do a one off hike or walking challenge

If you’re finding it hard to think of a challenge, we can help! Contact our friendly fundraising team at [email protected]

Everyone’s MS is different, and every way of taking part counts. Every action, no matter how small, adds up – helping us reach more people from the moment they’re diagnosed.

Start today and help someone feel supported from the moment of diagnosis.
