The TCS London Marathon is the UK’s biggest running event and one of the most iconic marathons in the world.

In 2027, it’s making history. For the first time ever, London Marathon weekend will feature two race days, with a brand-new Saturday marathon alongside the traditional Sunday event.

Overcoming MS has just five charity places available in this inaugural Saturday race. It’s a unique opportunity to be part of a landmark sporting event while helping more people live well with multiple sclerosis.

Whether you’re aiming for a personal best or taking on your first marathon, we’ll support you every step of the way.

We’re looking for five passionate runners to join Team Overcoming MS.

Your charity place includes:

  • Registration fee: £100
  • Minimum sponsorship pledge: £2,750

  • How you plan to reach your fundraising target.

With just five places available, we’ll be looking for applicants who demonstrate a genuine commitment to Overcoming MS and a realistic fundraising plan.

The Saturday Disability Ballot is open until 24 August. Like the main public ballot, places are allocated at random, giving you the chance to secure your own place in the TCS London Marathon.

We’d love you to join Team Overcoming MS as an Own Place runner and help more people live well with MS.

There’s no minimum fundraising target for Own Place runners. We simply ask you to raise as much as you can, and we’ll support you every step of the way with fundraising ideas, resources and encouragement.

Do I need marathon experience?

No. Runners of all abilities are welcome.

Will I hear if I've been successful?

We’ll review applications and contact successful applicants as soon as possible.

What are the fundraising commitments?

Charity place runners: £100 registration fee and a minimum sponsorship pledge of £2,750.

Own Place runners: No minimum fundraising target – we simply ask you to raise as much as you can.

I already have a place. Can I still run for Overcoming MS?

Absolutely. Whether you’re running on Saturday or Sunday, we’d love you to join Team Overcoming MS as an Own Place runner. 

Can Gift Aid count towards my fundraising target?

No. Your minimum sponsorship pledge of £2,750 must be raised before Gift Aid. Any Gift Aid claimed on eligible donations will be in addition to your fundraising total and will help support even more people living with MS.

Will you help me with fundraising?

Absolutely, we will support you! From the moment you join Team Overcoming MS, we’ll provide fundraising ideas and resources to help you reach your target. Whether you’re organising an event, asking friends and family to sponsor you or approaching your employer for matched funding, we’ll be with you every step of the way.
