Miriam is an experienced marketing and communications specialist with a long career spanning local and international roles across both the private and the public sector. She has worked for large corporations and small start-ups, alongside captains of industry, entrepreneurs, private equity partners and politicians, in New York, London, China, mainland Europe and Australia. The former New York-based Chief Brand Officer of WeightWatchers International, Miriam has also held senior roles at British Gas/Centrica, Saatchi & Saatchi, Publicis Groupe, the Sara Lee Corporation and NCS Trust, an arms length body of the English Government Department for Media, Culture & Sport, where she was heavily involved in parliamentary relations and public affairs.
With degrees in French and English from Trinity College Dublin, including a Masters in English literature, Miriam is an avid reader, with a particular appetite for crime. She enjoys travelling, especially to France as she’s a self-confessed, passionate Francophile, gardening, cooking and all kinds of mental puzzles. Miriam was diagnosed with MS nearly 3 years ago and is fascinated to explore ways to manage the condition so it fits in her life. She is excited about the role Overcoming MS plays in bringing hope to people with the condition and its ambitious plans for the charity’s future.
Miriam lives in Surrey with her husband Jon and their cat Topsy, where she has just started her first novel (a murder mystery, of course!)
