Could you be our new Community Engagement Volunteer?

We are looking for a volunteer to help our Community Engagement Co-ordinator in supporting and growing our community of OMS Ambassadors and Circles

Are you passionate about genuine community engagement, have exceptional organisational skills, coupled with a love for supporting volunteers, fundraising events and working in the charitable sector? Then the role of Community Engagement Volunteer at Overcoming Multiple Sclerosis (OMS) is for you. 

About the Role 

Role: Community Engagement Volunteer 
Hours: one day per week (or 2 x half days)  
Location: Remote  

Purpose: To work with our Community Engagement Co-ordinator in supporting and growing our community of OMS Ambassadors and Circles 

We are looking for a proactive, organised and personable individual who is able to meet the following principles that underpin our work:

  • Digital and accessible (familiar and comfortable with digital) 

Responsibilities 

  • Supporting the Ambassador recruitment process by administering Disclosure checks, processing reference requests and receipt of volunteer agreements, and updating the CRM 

  • Actively monitoring and responding to the Ambassador and Circles Support inboxes and highlighting any issues to the CEC. 

  • Providing technical and administrative support to those using Circles Online.  

  • Responding to requests from our Community for OMS resources and information 

Experience 

  • Experience of working in a customer-facing environment or community engagement role. 

  • Experience of working with and supporting volunteers. 

  • Experience and confidence in navigating digital platforms, websites and CRMs. 

  • Experience of engaging effectively with people from different cultures and backgrounds.  

Skills and attributes 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and spoken. 

  • You have excellent organisation and co-ordination skills.  

  • You are proficient with the full Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook as well as digital and social media channels and CRMs.
