As part of our latest fundraising campaign, the Hampshire Circle have hosted their OMS Big Picnic, raising over £135.
Circle Ambassadors Sue Collis and Stephanie Pielot hosted the event for the Hampshire Circle members and their families as well as some members of OMS team.
The garden was set up for the perfect picnic with homemade bunting hanging from the trees.
Sue said: “It’s so important to meet-up and support each other as we try to manage our symptoms and live well with MS. And what better way to do it – in the garden, eating delicious, healthy food.”
Everyone who attended brought their favourite OMS friendly creations and enjoyed them outside in the glorious sunshine.
Sue and Stephie provided a colouring competition for the children to enjoy as well as a raffle and a few games including ‘Guess the Weight of the Cake’, which OMS Head of Fundraising, Paul Lawrence, guessed the correctly!
The cake was thoroughly enjoyed by all the staff at OMS HQ. You can see the recipe for the banana loaf cake here.
Paul enjoyed attending the event, commenting, “The Hampshire community has put on a great spread to help us celebrate our Big Picnic fundraising campaign. We had a super day enjoying the sunshine and eating healthy food while chatting about the challenges of living well with MS. Thanks to Sue and Stephanie, our OMS Ambassadors, for organising such a well-attended and valuable afternoon.”
Our Community Coordinator Danny said: “It was great to be able to attend this picnic and see first-hand how valuable a support group OMS Circles really are. Truly a place for people of all walks of life to gather, share delicious OMS friendly food and support each other.”
