Overcoming MS today welcomes Penny Harris as our Interim Chair of the Board of Trustees.
Penny, who was appointed as a trustee in June 2024, has spent the majority of her career employed in the NHS in Executive Director and CEO roles. Over the past ten years, she has also run her own successful management consultancy business, offering project support and leadership across the health and care sectors.
Penny said, “I believe that my experience of working within the healthcare sector, combined with my personal experience of a diagnosis of MS, give me a unique approach to the role of Interim Chair of Overcoming MS. My time with the organisation so far means that I know we’re in a strong position to move forward, to work with healthcare clinicians, and to support more people to live well with MS.”
Alexandra Holden, Chief Executive of Overcoming MS, said, “I’m delighted that Penny has stepped into the interim Chair role, while we recruit for our permanent Chair of the Board of Trustees. Our community, staff team and volunteers have worked hard to deliver great things for everyone diagnosed with MS and it is important that we have the right leadership in place to capitalise on this. Penny’s personal and professional skills put us in an ideal position.”
Recruitment for the permanent Chair of the Board of Trustees will start imminently – anyone interested in the role should contact Alexandra Holden via [email protected]
