Overcoming MS welcomes three more new Trustees and continues to grow

Appointees bring valuable and diverse range of perspectives, experiences, thinking styles and skills to further strengthen the charity’s support for the MS community.

Overcoming MS, the world’s leading multiple sclerosis healthy lifestyle charity, announces the appointment of three new trustees to further enhance the charity’s ability to make a meaningful difference for those with MS.

The newly appointed trustees are:

  • Seun Ilenda, a member of the judiciary with a specialised focus on disability. Seun brings a unique blend of legal expertise, community empowerment and lived experience through her own diagnosis of MS to her role as Trustee for Overcoming MS. Seun is passionate about lifestyle and, in particular, the transformative power of the outdoors and gardening and this brings a holistic perspective to her contributions to Overcoming MS.
  • Kieran Bayles, has extensive experience working at some of the world’s largest consultancies and has just returned to the UK after spending the past 13 years working in Australia for Deloitte as a Partner. He advises large, private, public sector and healthcare clients on digital, data and technology-enabled transformations. Kieran has lived experience of MS, with his mother having been diagnosed in 2007 with relapsing-remitting MS. He is an advocate of the lifestyle self-management approach of Overcoming MS and has seen positivity in both outlook and outcomes for his mother in recent years.
  • Suruchi Saraf is a finance professional with over 20 years’ experience of developing and implementing financial strategy, governance and compliance and joins the Overcoming MS Board of Trustees as Treasurer. Suruchi is currently Director of Finance and Corporate Services for Dementia UK and has worked for many high profile organisations. Suruchi has witnessed the impact of multiple sclerosis on a friend’s family and how desperate it can be without the adequate support in place.

Dowshan Humzah, Chair of Overcoming MS, said: “I am excited to welcome Seun, Kieran and Suruchi to Overcoming MS. Over the last 12 months, Overcoming MS has grown tremendously and delivered more live events, such as the pop-up tour across regions and the in-person retreat. Our team, volunteers and board allow us to further deliver on the charity’s core purpose and emphasising the importance of informed lifestyle choices alongside clinical treatments. The new trustees bring a rich variety of perspectives, lived-experiences and skills that will challenge and support us in more effectively delivering our goals for the MS community.”
