Alia’s Story of Hope

Alia from the UK has been following OMS since 2013. She says, “it’s very difficult when you first start to experience the symptoms of MS. I think for me there were two levels: the diagnosis and then experiencing the gradual disability.”

“It’s very difficult when you first start to experience the symptoms of MS. I think for me there were two levels: the diagnosis, where I thought, ‘I can do this’, and then experiencing the gradual disability that comes when you completely neglect the fact that you’ve just been diagnosed with a serious illness.

“When I saw that I was not doing well at all, that I was dwindling and getting worse, I went to a very dark place. A lot of people who are my close loved-ones couldn’t understand that and really all I needed was something scientifically based that tells me ‘you have a reason to have hope’.

“For the first time I took ownership over my body, my situation, my diagnosis and I turned to the internet and started searching for anything that would give me an answer and the OMS Program was the most credible thing out there. The first thing I did was bought George Jelinek’s books. I’ve been on the program for almost a year and a half now.

“Certainly, what I have noticed is my energy levels have gone right up again and, apart from the energy levels, my mood has lifted and I’m back to who I used to be. I used to be opinionated and feisty − quite a big personality − and for a while that went away and the spark left me. For the last six months or, say, a year into the OMS program I’m back to that feisty, larger than life person and I’m happy to be back!”
