Baked Marinated Tofu or Tempeh

Deliciously marinated tofu or tempeh - the perfect side dish.

Ingredients List

Serves 2
  • 1 pack firm tofu (or tempeh)
  • 1 thumb ginger (finely diced)
  • 1 clove garlic (finely diced)
  • 1 tsp tamari
  • 1 light dusting polenta (fine)
  • 1 medium spring onion (chopped)


  1. Slice tofu or tempeh into sticks and place in dish.
  2. Mix ginger and garlic with tamari.
  3. Pour mixture over tofu or tempeh and leave overnight.
  4. Preheat oven to 175°C / 350 F.
  5. Very lightly grease a baking tray.
  6. When ready to use pour off marinade and reserve.
  7. Coat tofu or tempeh with polenta.
  8. Place in greased dish and bake until golden.
  9. Serve with marinade poured over and a scattering of spring onions.

Add all of the above ingredients to taste.
