Chocolate Cake

A lovely chocolate cake recipe from fellow OMSer Wendy.

Ingredients List

Serves 4
  • 3 cups plain flour
  • 2 cups sugar (raw sugar)
  • 6 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp baking powder (yes, that’s a tablespoon!)
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 2 cups water
  • 0.5 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 tbsp white vinegar

Instructions

  1. Sieve plain flour, cocoa, baking powder and baking soda, add sugar and mix.
  2. Then add wet ingredients and mix well.
  3. Grease a 20cm round tin with a little olive oil (extra virgin)
  4. Bake at 170° C for about 55 minutes.
  5. Keep testing as sometimes it takes a bit longer.
  6. It rises quite spectacularly in the tin.
