Sweet and Sour Fruit Sauce

This sweet and savoury thick sauce is perfect with fish, noodles or tofu and has an Asian tang.

Ingredients List

Serves 2
  • 1.5 cups pineapple (orange, and/or apple juice)
  • 0.25 cup maple syrup (or honey)
  • 0.5 cup cider vinegar (can use third of a cup)
  • 0.25 cup tamari
  • 1 clove garlic (minced or pressed)
  • 2 tbsps cornstarch (dissolved in 2 tbsps cold water)


  1. Combine pineapple juice, maple syrup, cider vinegar, tamari, garlic and cornstarch and blend. 
  2. This sauce is useful 
  3. Store in the fridge.

Substitute Tamari for soy sauce if you wish.
