Best exercise for MS: Squats or Leg Press with Dr Gretchen

Dr Gretchen discusses why squats are better than a gym-based leg press.

Squats are the most functional exercise because they replicate the exact movement we need to do in real-life situations, like standing up from a chair or sitting down with control, while fully weight-bearing.

The leg press is less functional because you’re sitting down. How often in real life do you need to push your legs away when you’re sitting? Not too often!

At the end of the day, they’re both great exercises for strengthening your legs but squats are more likely to result in improve mobility throughout your day!
