This vegan chocolate cake makes a delicious treat.
Ingredients List for people
Units:
- 1.5 cups wholemeal self-raising flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- 3 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1 tbsp white vinegar
- 1 tsps vanilla essence
- 6 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 0.25 tsp salt
Instructions
- Combine ingredients in bowl and stir.
- Cook in pre-heated oven at 180° C for 20-25 minutes or until skewer comes out clean.
- If you wish to ice: combine icing sugar, cocoa (small amount) and boiling water (just enough to make sticky mixture). Then spread over cake.

Hey, Does anyone know what substitute you would use in the UK for white vinegar? I can only see distilled white malt vinegar or white wine vinegar in our supermarkets...

Hi Ancy, I would suggest using either distilled white malt vinegar or apple cider vinegar for the egg replacer in this recipe. Happy baking
